Demoknight dev log #3
Just last Friday I finished my last final project. Only one more final exam to get through, then I’m clear for the summer and headed to SF.
So instead of studying, I’m trying to get some precious dev time into demoknight. I worked on it some of Saturday, Sunday, and today, and the Todo list part of it is finally done. All I have left is to add in heatmaps and plan drag and drop.
After that, deploying, design, reimplementing, then release. :o
Backbone is still hard, and I’m not sure how to use Collections. I probably should learn how, but the curse of Backbone is that the way I’m doing it now works perfectly fine. I’m not even using my models effectively. Blargh. Maybe after I finish I can reexamine the code and try to put events in. Except for this specific instance, the rest of the DOM doesn’t really need to know about anything that’s going on, so doing that doesn’t help too much.
Need to learn more about this stuff…
In other news, Yahoo acquired Tumblr for $1.1 billion, which I think is fantastic. It’s also weird thinking that some of the guys I met last summer might now be affluent.
